Reasons for Failure to Detect a Cryoglobulin

Are you trying to identify why a cryoglobulin may have been missed?

Was the serum sample collected into a syringe or tube with a temperature less than 37°C?

Was the serum sample allowed to cool before the serum was separated from the clot?

Does the serum show significant hyperlipidemia?

Number of days that the serum was kept in the cold to detect cryoprecipitation

Was the serum volume sufficient to detect a small amount of cryoglobulin?
