Gordon et al reported the 3-factor risk estimate scale (TRES) to quantify comorbidity in an adult with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. The authors are from the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and City of Hope National Medical Center.

Conditions under vascular:

(1) venous insufficiency

(2) lymphedema

(3) carotid stenosis

(4) deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolus

(5) atherosclerosis (leg claudication, angina, TIA)

(6) history of surgical or endovascular intervention for atherosclerosis

(7) antiplatelet agent therapy

(8) aortic stenosis

 

Conditions under upper GI:

(1) proton pump inhibitor use

(2) documented peptic ulcer disease or history of perforated ulcer

(3) acute or chronic pancreatitis

(4) melena

(5) prior upper GI cancer

 

Conditions under endocrinal:

(1) diabetes treated with oral agent or insulin

(2) hyperthyroidism

(3) obesity

(4) adrenal insufficiency

(5) thyroid, breast, or adrenal malignancy
