Alteplase (Activase, Genentech) is a recombinant tissue plasminogen activator used for thrombolytic therapy. Its activity is measured against a WHO standard.
Alteplase has an activity of 580,000 IU per mg.
It is supplied in vials with 50 or 100 mg. The reconstituted activity is 1 mg per mL.
