The Bandim Tuberculosis Score (TBscore) is a clinical severity score for a patient with tuberculosis in a resource-limited community. The score was developed at the Bandim Health Project in Guinea-Bissau.
Patient selection: tuberculosis (? adults, since arm circumference would have less meaning in children)
Symptoms:
(1) cough
(2) hemoptysis
(3) dyspnea
(4) chest pain
(5) night sweats
Signs:
(1) anemia
(2) heart rate < 90 beats per minute
(3) positive findings on lung auscultation
(4) body temperature > 37°C
(5) body mass index in kg per square meter
(6) mid upper arm circumference (MUAC) in mm
