Some athletes may experience a blackening over their palms.
Athlete at risk:
(1) tennis or racquetball player
(2) weightlifter
(3) gymnast
(4) golfer
(5) any other sport using a tight grip
The key clinical finding consists of numerous petechiae over pressure points of the palm used for grip.
It may be unilateral or bilateral.
Differential diagnosis:
(1) discoloration from gloves or equipment surface
