Traumatic injury to the urinary bladder can be graded using the Bladder Injury Scale.

Type of Injury	Extent	Grade
hematoma or contusion	intramural	I
laceration	partial thickness	I
	extraperitoneal, < 2 cm	II
	extraperitoneal, >= 2 cm	III
	intraperitoneal, < 2 cm	III
	intraperitoneal, >= 2 cm	IV
	extension into the bladder neck	V
	extension into the ureteral orifice at the trigone	V

If more than 1 injury is present, then advance grade by 1 up to Grade III.
