The Bronchiectasis Comorbidity Index (BCI) can be used to evaluate comorbidities in a patient with bronchiectasis.
Parameters:
(1) metastatic malignancy
(2) iron deficiency anemia
(3) liver disease
(4) hematologic malignancy (when not considered the underlying cause for the bronchiectasis)
(5) diabetes mellitus
(6) solid tumor
(7) pulmonary hypertension
(8) peptic ulcer disease

Interpretation:
• minimum score: 0
• maximum score: 39
• The higher the score the greater the comorbidity.
