Description

Le et al reported an algorithm for separating renal transplant candidates into low and high risk groups for cardiac events after transplant surgery. This can help identify patients who require additional testing to define their risk. The authors are from the Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Oregon.

Cardiac event endpoints: significant arrhythmia, congestive heart failure, acute myocardial infarction

Parameters:

(1) age of the patient

(2) diabetes mellitus

(3) congestive heart failure

(4) angina
