The patient with lifelong premature ejaculation has had the problem since becoming sexually active and with most or all sexual partners.
Acquired premature ejacuation may be a result of:
(1) a problem in the relationship
(2) medical illness (thyroid disease, urologic disorder, etc)
(3) psychological stress
