Description

A dislocated or displaced lens (ectopia lentis) can occur due to a number of conditions.


Parameters to identify:

(1) nature of onset (hereditary, congenital, acquired)

(2) being part of a systemic disorder or localized

 

Causes or associations of ectopia lentis:

(1) Adenoma of the nonpigmented epithelium of the ciliary body

(2) Aniridia

(3) Apert syndrome

(4) Axenfield-Rieger syndrome

(5) Chronic cyclitis

(6) Congenital glaucoma

(7) Conradi syndrome

(8) Crouzon syndrome

(9) Cryptophthalmia syndrome

(10) Ectopia Lentis et Pupillae

(11) Ehlers-Danlos syndrome

(12) Familial hyperlysinemia

(13) Gillum-Anderson syndrome

(14) Gorlin-Goltz syndrome

(15) High myopia

(16) Homocystinuria

(17) Hypermature cataract
