The external urogenital tract may be involved by myiasis.
Sites of involvement:
(1) female: clitoris, urethra, vulva, vagina, uterus
(2) male: glans penis, urethra, scrotum
Risk factors:
(1) sexually transmitted disease
(2) cervical or penile carcinoma
(3) urethral stent
(4) urethral discharge
(5) uterine prolapse
(6) failure to wear underwear
(7) lack of cleanliness
Clinical findings may include:
(1) pruritus
(2) pain or discomfort
(3) genital ulceration
(4) foreign body sensation
