A male with genital schistosomiasis may develop a number of clinical findings.
Sites that may be affected:
(1) seminal vesicles: may cause calcifications
(2) prostate: may cause prostatitis
(3) testes: may simulate a tumor
(4) epididymis: may cause epididymitis
(5) penis, with or without urethral stricture
(6) scrotum
Change in semen:
(1) yellow discoloration
(2) hemospermia (associated with seminal vesicle involvement)
(3) lumpy semen
(4) decreased semen
Examiination of lumps in semen may show schistosomal eggs containing larvae.
