Patient selection: diffuse mesothelioma

Extent	Stage
confined to homolateral pleura, lung and pericardium	I
invades chest wall, mediastinal structures, opposite pleura or intra-thoracic lymph nodes	II
invades peritoneum through diaphragm or extra-thoracic lymph nodes	III
distant metastases (blood-borne)	IV
