Description

RhoGAM (human anti-D immune globulin) is used to prevent alloimmunization to D-antigen when a D-negative patient (usually a pregnant woman) is exposed.

1 µg = 5 international unit (IU)

Thus, 1 vial of microRhogam (50 µg) consists of 250 IU and 1 vial of regular Rhogam (300 µg) contains 1,500 IU.

300 µg Rhogam will inactivate up to 15 mL of packed D-positive red blood cells, or approximately 30 mL of whole blood (assuming a hematocrit of 50%).
