(1) frequency
(2) severity
Features of disabling cough:
(1) reduced quality of life
(2) associated with deterioration in other measures of pulmonary function (FVC as percent of predicted; DLco as percent of predicted)
(3) reduced ability to work or participate
(4) stigma
(5) associated with other milestones: hospitalized, death, lung transplantation
(6) increased distress
(7) impaired sleep
