Discharge Criteria Following Severe Community-Acquired Pneumonia

Is the patient hemodynamically stable?

Number of active medical problems that require continued hospitalization

Can the patient be discharged to a safe environment?

Can the patient promptly return for care if the need should arise?

Does the patient require continued antibiotic therapy?

Has the patient been switched to an oral regimen?

Does the patient require rehabilitation services?

Does the patient need additional diagnostic testing?
