Description

Cortes et al reported a simple score for identify a patient with idiopathic acute pancreatitis for whom endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) provides a diagnosis. The authors are from Mayo Clinic Jacksonville and Shakhbout Medical City in the United Arab Emirates.

Patient selection: idiopathic acute pancreatitis

Exam: endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS)

Outcome: positive EUS such as occult biliary disease, fatty pancreas or chronic pancreatitis

DORM 65 is an acronym derived from the first letter of the parameters.

Parameters:

(1) delayed EUS (D), performed >= 82 days from the most recent episode of acute pancreatitis

(2) obesity (O)

(3) repeat transabdominal ultrasound (TUS) (R), presumably nondiagnostic

(4) male sex (M)

(5) 65 years of age or older (65)
