The second version of the Emergency Severity Index (EDI) can be used to triage patients in the Emergency Department, especially when multiple casualties are present.
Levels of care: 1 (immediate) to 5

Danger zone vital signs:
(1) oxygen saturation on pulse oximetry < 92%
(2) abnormal respiratory rate for age
(3) abnormal pulse for age

Changes from version 1:
(1) removal of peak flow as a danger zone vital sign
(2) change in oxygen saturation from < 90% to < 92%
(3) addition of pediatric vital sign criteria
(4) change in pulse for > 8 years from > 90 to > 100 beats per minute
