Kim et al reported several equations related to the physical fitness of older Korean adults. Two equations predict the chair stand and timed up-and-go tests. The authors are from Konkuk University in South Korea.
Patient selection: Korean adult >= 65 years of age
Chair stand test: number of times that a sitting person can stand up then sit back down within 30 seconds
Timed up-and-go test: number of seconds for the patient to send up from a chair, walk 3 meters, turn around, return and sit back down.
Parameters:
(1) sex of the patient
(2) age of the patient in years
(3) percent body fat, from 0 to 100
(4) body mass index (BMI) in kg per square meter
