Passmore et al developed a prognostic score for patients with pediatric myelodysplasia. The FPC (hemoglobin F, Platelet count, Cytogenetic) score correlates with survival. The authors are from several hospitals in London.
Parameters for prognostic score, based on findings at the time of diagnosis:
(1) F: hemoglobin F levels
(2) P: platelet count
(3) C: cytogenetic abnormalities

• The presence of 2 or more clonal structural or numerical abnormalities is termed "complex karyotypic changes".

= SUM(points for all 3 factors)

• minimum score: 0
• maximum score: 3
