The Irish Children's Triage System is used to triage pediatric patient coming to the Emergency Department.


Patient selection: seizure, absent episode or collapse

• New neurological symptom: sudden onset of confusion, drowsiness, altered level of consciousness, loss of sensation, limb weaknesss, change in bladder or bowel function, irritability.

 

The final triage category is MIN(triage category for all of the parameters).

 

The lowest category allowed in this condition is Category 4 (no Category 5).
