The Plate Objective Scoring Tool (POST) is a quantitative measure of the urethral plate.
Patient selection: distal hypospadias
Landmarks:
(A) distal midline mucocutaneous junction
(B) glanular knob where the mucosal edges of the urethral plate changes direction
(C) glanular and coronal junction
POST =
= (distance from A to B) / (distance from B to C)
If the ratio is < 1.2, then perform a dorsal inlay TIP (tubularized incised urethral plate) urethroplasty.
If the ratio is >= 1.2, then perform a TIP (tubularized incised urethral plate) urethroplasty with tubularization.
