Abdollah et al developed a table indicated the risk of postoperative mortality following a radical cystectomy. This can help to identify a patient who may benefit from more aggressive or an alternative management. The authors are from the University of Montreal, Vita Salute San Raffaele University, Prostate Cancer Center Hamburg-Eppendorf and Cornell University.
Patient selection: radical cystectomy
Output: in-hospital postoperative mortality (POM)
Parameters:
(1) age in years
(2) Charlson comorbidity index (CCI). This probably is the index without points for "any malignancy". Otherwise the minimum index would be 2 instead of 0.
