An equation expressed in mmol/L or mg/dL can be converted to the other once the molecular weight is known.
If the molecular weight is X grams, then 1 mmol/L is equivalent to (X / 10) mg/dL.
For a linear equation expressed in mmol/L:
value =
= (slope * (value in mmol/L)) + intercept
= (slope * (value in mg/dl) / (X / 10)) + intercept
new slope =
= (initial slope) * 10 / X
For a linear equation in mg/dL:
= (slope * (value in mg/dL)) + intercept
= (slope * (X / 10) * (value in mmol/L)) + intercept
