A stroke disorder may be associated with a movement disorder that may appear with or delayed after the event.
Movement disorders associated with stroke may include:
(1) Parkinsonism
(2) hemichorea-hemiballismus or chorea
(3) dystonia
(4) athetosis (slow, involuntary writhing movements)
(5) tremors
(6) myoclonus
(7) seizures/convulsions, including status epilepticus
(8) jerking movements
(9) limb shaking
(10) asterixis
