n-Ethyl Pentylone is a synthetic cathinone derived from Pentylone.
Pharmacologic effect: increases dopamine, serotonin and norepinephrine resulting in CNS stimulation
Psychological findings are amphetamine-like with:
(1) agitation
(2) aggression or violence
(3) hallucinations
(4) psychosis and delusional behavior
Adverse side effects:
(1) serotonin syndrome
(2) myocardial infarction
(3) acute renal failure
(4) traumatic injury
(5) sympathomimetic hyperthermia with rhabdomyolysis
