The Neoadjuvant Rectal (NAR) score can be used to evaluate a patient with rectal cancer undergoing preoperative chemoradiation followed by surgery.

subscore =
= SUM(points for all of the parameters) + 12

= ((subscore)^2) / 9.61
Interpretation:
• minimum score: 0 (pN0, cT 4, pT 0)
• maximum score: 100 (pN 2, cT 1, pT 4)
• The higher the score the worse the prognosis.
