Manzotti et al reported a neonatal assessment called NAME that included evaluation based on light touch. The authors are from V. Buzzi Children's Hospital, Istituto Osteopatio Milano and Foundation COME Collaboration.
Patient selection: neonate in the NICU
Parameters:
(1) visual analogue scale (VAS) from 1 (very poor) to 9 (very good)
(2) compliance by static light touch (whether the body changes by a volume according to the mechanical stimuli applied)
(3) homogeneity of compliance at multiple body sites (whether the response to the mechanical stimuli is the same throughout the body)
