Beppu et al reported a nomogram for predicting disease-free survival (DFS) after resection of colorectal liver metastases. This can help to identify a patient who may benefit from more aggressive or novel therapy. The authors are from multiple institutions in Japan with the authors belonging to the Japanese Society of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery.
Patient selection: status/post resection of colorectal liver metastases
Parameters:
(1) synchronous metastases
(2) primary lymph node status
(3) number of metastases
(4) largest tumor diameter in cm
(5) extrahepatic metastases at the time of liver surgery
(6) preoperative CA19-9 in ng/mL
