Description

Han et al reported a nomogram for predicting overall survival for a patient with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). This can help to identify a patient who may require more aggressive management. The authors are from National Cancer Center, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College in Beijing.

Patient selection: diffuse large B-cell lymphoma

Parameters:

(1) age in years

(2) ECOG performance status

(3) Ann Arbor stage

(4) expression of CD5

(5) Ki-67 index in percent

(6) serum LDH concentration

(7) serum beta-2 microglobulin concentration

= SUM(points for all of the parameters)

Interpretation:

• minimum score: 0

• maximum score: 410

• The higher the score the worse the overall survival.

value of X =

= (-0.000026526 * ((score)^2)) - (0.0072854 * (score)) + 1.9634

probability of 5-year overall survival =

= 1 / (1 + EXP((-1) * X))

Performance:

• The area under the ROC curve is 0.77.
