Description

Ridgeon et al reported the Oxford Anaesthetic Complexity (OxAnCo) score for evaluating the complexity of anesthesia for a surgical case. It consists of a patient and a technical subscore. The authors are from Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust and Royal Berkshire Hospital in England.


Patient selection: ASA 1 through 4

 

Parameters:

(1) age of the patient in years

(2) body mass index (BMI) in kg per square emter

(3) ASA performance status

(4) difficult IV access

(5) difficult airway

(6) communication difficulties (learning disability, different language, etc)
