Andtbacka et al developed a simple score for estimating the probability that a nonsentinel lymph node will contain metatastic melanoma in a patient with a positive sentinel lymph node. The authors are from M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
Parameters:
(1) Breslow thickness of the primary tumor in mm
(2) largest metastatic focus in mm in a sentinel lymph node

= SUM(points for both parameters)
Interpretation:
• minimum score: 0
• maximum score: 4
• The higher the score the higher the probability that a nonsentinel lymph node will contain metastatic melanoma.
