Gong et al used a simple score for prehospital evaluation of patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI). The authors are from Seoul National University.
Patient selection: prehospital assessment of traumatic brain injury
Parameters
(1) motor Glasgow coma scale (mGCS), from 1 to 6
(2) systolic blood pressure
(3) oxygen saturation by pulse oximetry
(4) age in years

Interpretation:
• minimum score: 1
• maximum score: 9
• The lower the score the worse the outcomes.
Performance:
• The area under the ROC curve for mortality is 0.85.
• The area under the ROC curve for severe disability is 0.78.
