Patients with Gestational trophoblastic disease (GTD) can be divided into good and poor prognostic groups based on clinical and laboratory findings.
Prognostic factors:
(1) duration of disease in months
(2) pretherapy serum HCG
(3) status of metastases
(4) features of preceding pregnancy

Interpretation:
• good prognosis: no poor prognostic indicators found
• poor prognosis: any of the poor prognostic indicators, with worsening of prognosis as number of indicators increases
