Lahat et al reported prognostic factors for an adult with a soft tissue sarcoma. These can help to identify a patient who may require more aggressive management. The authors are from the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

Factors associated with a favorable prognosis:
(1) less than 5 cm in diameter

(3) complete resection with wide negative margin
(4) extremity
(5) younger age
(6) no recurrence
Factors associated with worse prognosis:
(1) > 15 cm in diameter
