Arsura et al listed the mortality for various combinations of neuroimaging findings for patients with coccidioidal meningitis. This can help identify patients who may benefit from more aggressive management. The authors are from Salem Veterans Affairs Medical Center and University of Virginia.
Neuroimaging findings:
(1) hydrocephalus
(2) basilar meningitis
(3) cerebral infarction
MRI was superior to CT for demonstrating CNS abnormalities.
