Description

The Reference Daily Intakes (RDI, formerly Recommended Dietary Requirements or RDA) serve as guides to ensure adequate nutrition. These usually exceed the levels required to prevent symptoms of deficiency by 2 standard deviations; the increased amounts are intended to compensate for any problems a person may have for absorption or bioavailability. The nutrients are divided into fat soluble vitamins, water soluble vitamins and minerals.
