Response Criteria of Wong et al After Therapy for a High Grade Cerebral Glioma

Description

Wong et al evaluated outcomes in patients with high grade cerebral gliomas following therapy. The criteria for response can be used to compare different therapeutic interventions. The authors are from M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and the University of California at San Francisco.

Response types:

(1) complete response

(2) partial response

(3) minor response

(4) stable disease

(5) progressive disease

Outcome measures:

(1) tumor size based on neuroimaging studies

(2) requirement for increased corticosteroids (clinical progression)

(3) new tumor lesion
