Revised Cutaneous Lupus Erythematosus Disease Area and Severity Index (RCLASI) can be used to evaluate a patient with cutaneous lupus erythematosus. One measure is the activity of alopecia. Parameters:
(1) diffuse alopecia (without scarring)
(2) lupus hair or wooly hair (without scarring): thin, weakened hair that easily fragments above the surface of the scalp
