Description

Hong et al reported the SABP score for predicting severe acute pancreatitis. This can help to identify a patient who may require more aggressive management. The authors are from the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University in Zhejiang.

SABP is an acronym for SIRS, albumin, BUN and pleural effusion.

Patient selection: acute pancreatitis

Parameters:

(1) SIRS

(2) serum albumin in g/L
