Green et al reported the Satiety Quotient (SQ) to assess the satiating effect of various foods. The authors are from the University of Leeds.
Parameters:
(1) measure of satiety in mm along a 150 mm VAS scale (desire to eat, hunger, fullness, prospective food consumption)
(2) caloric value of the meal in kcal
satiety quotient in mm per 100 kcal =
= (mm from VAS scale) / ((kcal for meal) / 100)
The satiety quotient can be calculated at various times after the meal to measure satiety over time.
