Description

Erdur et al reported a simple score for predicting the risk of symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage following thrombolytic therapy of an acute ischemic stroke. The authors are from Charite-Universitatsmedizin Berlin, University of Basel and Felix Platter Hospital (Basel).

Patient selection: acute ischemic stroke treated with recombinant tissue-plasminogen activator

Outcome: symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage (sICH)

Parameters:

(1) age in years

(2) NIH stroke scale

(3) blood glucose in mg/dL

(4) systolic blood pressure in mm Hg

(5) pretreatment with medium or high-dose statins
