Measuring the diameter is usually easier than trying to measure the circumference.
The official size is metric. Conversion to inches can result in rounding errors.
The ball should be inflated to regulation pressure (0.8 bar at sea level, range 0.6 to 1.1).
The ball tends to expand a little after it has been in play. Sizing is done when the ball is new.
