Description

A Dental Implant Risk Assessment Scorecard is used by the Veterans Health Administration to evaluate a patient prior to performing a dental implant. This consists of 2 sections, one for medical and dental history and one for clinical exam. The authors are from the Veterans Health Administration.


 

Patient selection: prior to dental implantation

(2) diabetes and hemoglobin A1c status

(3) history of same site failure

(4) antiresorptive therapy

(5) current use of SSRI antidepressant

(6) current use of a proton pump inhibitor

(7) radiation therapy to the head and neck in Grays
