Description

The World Health Organization (WHO) has published a case definition for a clinical diagnosis of Ebola or Marburg Virus Disease.


Suspected case - one or more of the following:

(1) sudden onset of high fever and exposure to a probable or confirmed case of Ebola or Marburg virus (human, animal, etc)

(2) sudden onset of high fever and >= 3 clinical symptoms (see below)

(3) inexplicable bleeding

(4) sudden, inexplicable death

 

Clinical symptoms:

(1) headache

(2) anorexia or loss of appetite

(3) lethargy

(4) aching muscles or joints

(5) breathing difficulties

(6) vomiting

(7) diarrhea

(8) stomach pain

(9) difficulty swallowing

(10) hiccup
