Wong and Baker used a row of drawn faces to help a child describe the degree of pain being experienced. This can help monitor pain associated with medical interventions over time and help indicate the need for additional therapy.
NOTE: The diagrammatic faces are reminiscent of the photographs in the Oucher scale.
